If You Build It, They Will Come
It’s been less than a week since I started this site and I’ve just been told that over 50,000 people have visited. And granted, while the majority of people coming here are all members of Cult with Chris, there have been a fair amount of people stopping by who agree with me.
Once such person is Faith, who stated the following in the comments section a few posts back.
“I want to say that I am not here to tell you that you are wrong. In fact, I agree with you. CWC IS a cult. Whether or not Chris wanted it to be like that is questionable. You have brought it to my attention and I don’t plan to watch CWC much, if at all, anymore in the future. People who would hack into your E-mail and Myspace accounts do NOT have a life, and should get one. In ultimate truth, a cult IS what Chris has created, and he has used it to destroy one too many people’s accounts.” - Faith
BINGO! Faith hit the nail on the head with this comment. How many videos have you watched where Chris goes on a rant about some “annoying fan or e-mail” and bashes them? Going as far as giving out the person’s account information (for sites like YouTube) on the show. Here’s a few facts:
- Because of Chris, I no longer have a MySpace account, Facebook account, or e-mail address that I used for 4 years.
- Because of Chris, I’ve received death threats.
- Because of Chris, I had to change my phone number.
Now before you say, “WRONG KANDICE! It’s YOUR fault… blah blah blah,” I will admit that I did pick a fight with Chris. However, no matter how many e-mails I sent him, I didn’t deserve to have all of my personal accounts hacked, get death threats, etc…
So anyway, Chris might not realize it and the people doing it might not realize it, but one thing’s for sure. It’s happening and it’s Chris’ fans who are doing it. I started it, he brought it to the attention of his followers and now they are doing his dirty work for him. You can’t make an argument against that fact.
But like I said in the beginning, I’m a big girl and I can take it… I’ve already reached my goal of “saving just one person from the clutches of Cute With Chris,” but that’s just the beginning. The bigger you are, the harder you fall… and I have just one message to the members of Cult with Chris: You’re gonna fall hard.

Thanks for “your definition” of a cult and no i am not going to attack dictionary.com now because in fact you did create your own definition of a cult by leaving out a few definitions that you feel didn’t apply.

8. any system for treating human sickness that originated by a person usually claiming to have sole insight into the nature of disease, and that employs methods regarded as unorthodox or unscientific.
I copied that straight from dictionary.com where you said you got your definition and yes your definitions are in there but you failed to include the definitions including religious worship. Just look at past groups that were labeled as cults, People’s Temple and Heaven’s Gate, these groups had leaders who brainwashed and commanded people to do what they said and in both of these cases the cult committed suicide.
You may argue that Chris has “brainwashed” his viewers through his videos but nowhere in his video about you did he directly tell his viewers to personally attack you. You shouldn’t blame Chris on what his viewers decided to do on their own free will.
I am not trying to attack you i am simply trying to tell you why waste so much energy on bringing down what you call a cult that involves an internet show about puppies and kittens when you can bring down an actual cult like Scientology that brainwashes and solicits money from its followers just to be a part of their religion.
Anyways to end this long, long comment I just want to say that you should be careful with how you label people Kandace with a “K”. If you want to call Cute With Chris viewers a cult thats fine but then you should also make a website against Barack Obama supporters or even Hilary Clinton supporters. Do you really think all of their supporters are trying to do evil or just a certain few.

Your comment has no relevance to anything. While I agree that CWC is not a cult, the majority of your post was you listing off the definition of cult (of which you falsely determined what it takes to be defined as a cult), and then implied that she is a hyocrite. I fail to see why she would read any further than the first paragraph- it’s not an issue of respect, it’s the fact that the majority of your comment is completely irrelevant.
You also fail to recoginize that sheeple (sorry, I meant people) love to follow groups and do as they’re told. This is why it is possible for the cult groups you referenced to exist in the first place, as any logical person would laugh at the idea. Yet, when put into a situation where it’s acceptance vs. isolation, those same people will be the first to drink the poisonaide.
Lastly, and this is actually comical, you try to compare the development of this site to the Clinton/Barack political race. Please, that’s like comparing apples to Siberian Tigers- they aren’t even remotely similar.
What Kandace as done here is create something of controversey, and while Chris himself may not be responsible for the actions of his viewers, his method of comedy was a catalyst by which his viewers felt the need to act out, largely on his behalf. He should know that his site has dumb, immature people watching it, and he should know where a line needs to be drawn.
Evidently, he doesn’t, and now we have this site.
Now please, when you respond to this, don’t start beaking off about what you read on dictionary.com. Stick to the facts and don’t argue semantics.
